Alicia Menendez

Alicia Menendez is a journalist and multimedia storyteller. Named “Broadcast Journalism’s New Gladiator” by Elle, a “Content Queen” by Marie Claire, and “Ms. Millennial” by The Washington Post, Alicia has quickly become a force in American media.

She is currently a co-host of Amanpour & Co. PBS’s late night interview program; a contributing editor at Bustle; and the creator and host of the Latina to Latina podcast.

Before joining PBS, Alicia was an anchor and correspondent at Fusion TV. In her time there, she hosted a nightly news and pop culture show, “Alicia Menendez Tonight,” which was nominated for a GLAAD Media Award and honored with a Gracie Award for “Outstanding Talk Show.” In addition to her nightly show, Alicia produced and hosted a one-hour primetime special, Generation in Crisis, for which she traveled to El Salvador, Rwanda, and a Syrian refugee camp in Jordan. During the 2016 Presidential election, Alicia co-moderated the Iowa Brown and Black Forum, pressing Democratic hopefuls Hillary Clinton, Martin O’Malley, and Bernie Sanders on issues of importance to Latino and African-American communities, and co-anchored Fusion’s coverage of the Republican and Democratic nominating conventions, as well as Election Night.

Alicia has also contributed reporting to ABC’s “Nightline” and “World News Tonight” as well as ABC’s Emmy-nominated 2014 Election Night coverage, and shared her spirited take on current events on “Good Morning America,” “The Today Show,” “Real Time with Bill Maher,” “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah,” “The View,” and “This Week with George Stephanopolous.”

She was one of eight hosts and producers who launched HuffPost Live, the Huffington Post’s Internet-based video streaming network. There she interviewed a wide range of celebrities and newsmakers, and co-anchored five hours of breaking news coverage after the Boston Marathon bombing and six hours of live coverage on Election Night 2012.
