John Thomas

John Thomas is the founder and President of Thomas Partners Strategies, a full service Republican media, strategy and crisis communications firm. He is actively involved in shaping the political landscape across the nation and specializes in strategy consulting and television creation for political campaigns, corporations, ballot measures, non-profits and universities. As a political ad man Thomas has created some of the most cutting edge, creative and compelling ads of the last cycle causing the LA Times to call him, “Billy the Kid of Political Battles.”

John is KFI 640 AM’s official political analyst and host of KFI’s Thomas Guide Show as well as a CNN political commentator. Prior to CNN he was found frequently in the media ranging from local and national radio appearances to cable news stations like Fox News, MSNBC, FOX 11, PBS, and numerous national outlets like Daily Caller, Politico, RollCall, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Campaigns and Elections Magazine and others. John was honored as the Distinguished Alum of the Year in 2017 from Pepperdine’s School of Public Policy as well as Campaign and Elections Magazine Rising Star Award in 2017 for his work as a Republican political strategist for clients across the country. Thomas is passionate about civic involvement volunteering his time as a leader for SMU’s Los Angeles alumni, serving on the boards of Pepperdine’s School of Public Policy and CalWatchdog (California’s leading political investigative journalism outlet). Thomas earned his Bachelor’s degree in Advertising from Southern Methodist University and his Master’s in Public Policy from Pepperdine’s School of Public Policy.
