Kevin de León

In the course of a remarkable career, Senator Kevin de León has taught U.S. citizenship courses, planned the largest civil rights march in California history, and become the first Latino leader of the California State Senate in 130 years. As Leader of the California State Senate, Kevin authored and passed landmark gun safety regulations, immigration reforms that keep families together, and environmental justice laws. In 2017, he wrote the California Values Act, to prevent the Trump Administration from hijacking local law enforcement resources to detain and deport hardworking immigrant families. This summer he passed SB 100, committing California to generating 100% of its electricity using the sun, water, wind, and putting thousands of Californians to work in green-energy jobs. He is the California Democratic Party’s endorsed candidate for the U.S. Senate in this year’s November 6th election.
